The Business Problem
MARKET GROWTH / TRIAL: Owned by Amazon, Audible is unquestionably the market leader for audiobooks. They possess a high brand share and offer users an extensive selection of audiobooks, the ability to listen to books across numerous platforms, and maintain a high quality of production. They offer a free trial of their services and discounted rates for new users. Audible, confident they are the premium choice in the audiobook category, is simply looking to bring more people into the general audiobook market. They are seeking increased sales from people sampling their services and then signing on as full-time members.
Listening to audiobooks is misleadingly simple
I don’t want to deal with so much BS, why is it so hard to just enjoy my favorite book
Persona
Meet Evelyn, a 36-year-old go-getter who lives with her husband and 4-year-old son in Madison, Wisconsin. After graduating with a degree in business from her home state of Minnesota, she moved with her then-boyfriend to Madison. While Evelyn would still continue to develop her insatiable entrepreneurial spirit, she and her husband wanted to scale back and escape some of the craziness of the big city. In Madison, she felt more control over her life and settled comfortably into a suburban house with plenty of space for her family to grow. Only a 10-minute drive from the state capital, Evelyn still gets her fix of city life and opened her own lucrative boutique on the capital square. Between running a business, raising a young son, and wanting to be outdoors as much as possible, she has regrettably little time for the small hobbies she loves like drawing and reading, hobbies she used to love before life got busy. Evelyn is highly organized and has no time for things that are overly complicated, halt her productivity, or cut into precious time with family.
Social media is a big part of Evelyn’s life, as it is a big part of her business. She is primarily active on Instagram and Facebook.
